A Direction
You are lucky that I don’t have time to navel-gaze too much here about it. But due to converging small events this morning I am seeing the direction to take a lot of aspects of life. To wit, I opened and savored a letter written by a friend who lives on the other side of Japan. I read this meaningful article sent by a friend. And I am eating this tremendous meal prepared* by a friend.
The direction is ill-served by me trying to define or nail it down here, but it seems to include: To savor good, tangible things and relationships. To impart gravity to interactions that span distance. To fully value proximity and presence. To be generous with time and money toward the above and stingy toward the insincere and non-valuable. And of course to celebrate mundane joys.
*Plating deficiencies are my own.
